  SCIENTIFIC FIGURES

1.Al-Kindi

           

            Al-Kindi's full name is Abu Yusuf Ya'qub bin Ishaq bin Sabah bin Imran bin Ismail bin Muhammad bin Al-asyas bin Qois Al-Kindi. He was one of the greatest philosophers of Islam. He was born in Kufa in 801 AD (at the time of the reign of Harun Al-Rasyid) and died in 869 AD.

            Al-Kindi was the first Muslim to study philosophy, so he is known as the first Muslim philosopher.

            The works of Al-Kindi amounted to 270 pieces. His works can be grouped into the fields of philosophy, metrology, politics, psychology, medicine, music,logic, arithmetic, astrology, geometry, and astronomy.                                                                  

2.Al-Farabi

           


            Al-Farabi's full name is Abu Nasr Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Tarkham bin Uzlaqah Farabi. He was born in Farab in 870 AD and died in Aleppo (Syria) in 950 AD. He was able to master 70 languages ​​along with his branches of knowledge. The work of Al- The famous Farabi are Al-Jami Baina Rayi Al-Hakimaini and Al-Uyun Al-Masa'il.

      In the field of philosophy, Al-Farabi's state administration divides the state into 5 forms, namely:

  • The main country (Al-Madinah Al-Fadhilah)
  • The country of fools (Al-Madinah Al-Jahiliyah)
  • The country of the fasiq (Al-Madinah Al-Fasiqoh)

3. Ar-Razi

          


 
Ar-Razi was a doctor and also a philosopher. He was born in Ray in 865 AD and died in 932 AD.

            The greatness of Ar-Razi is that he has written more than 20,000 pieces of paper in a year. He has also written a total of 232 books or treatises, most of which are about the field of medicine. 20 volumes. Another book is Fi al judari wa al hasbat. This book discusses measles and smallpox.

4.Ibnu Sina

        


    Ibn Sina's real name is Abu Al-Husain bin Abdullah. He was born in Afsyanah, Bukahara in 980 AD and died in 1039 AD in Hamdan. He was a famous Islamic doctor and philosopher in the West. He was known as Avicenna. .

            In the field of philosophy he was named Asy-Shaykh Ar-Rais (teacher of kings), and in the field of medicine he was named the prince of doctors. Ibn Sina compiled more than 200 written works.

5.Ibn Masawih

            Ibn Maskawih's full name is Abu Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Ya'qub bin Maskawih. He was born in 941 AD and died in 1030 AD. He is more famous as an expert in philosophy and history. The works of Ibn Maskawih include:

 Al-Ghazali's full name is Abu Hamid Muhammad bin Muhammad At-Tusi Al-Ghazali. He was born in 1058 AD/450H in the city of Ghazalah, a small town near Tus, Khurasan Province of Persia (Iran) and died in 1111 AD, precisely on the 14th of Jumadil Akhir. Al-Ghazali is a famous theologian, philosopher, and Sufi thinker throughout Islamic history. In the Islamic West he is known by the name Algazel.

            He has written almost 100 books on fiqh theology, Sufism, philosophy, morality, and autobiography. His major works are as follows.

7. Jabir bin Hayyan

           


Jabir bin Hayyan was born in 721 AD in Tus and died in 815 AD in Kuffah. He was known as a famous Islamic chemist. The results of Jabir bin Hayyan reached 80 works. Among them At-Tajmi and Az-Za'big Ash-Syarqy





8. Ibn Majah

            His full name is Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Yahya Al-Shayigh At-Tujibi. In the West it is known as Avempace. He was born in the city of Saragossa, Spain in 1085 AD and died in 1183 AD. Among his works is the treatise of al-ittishal al- aql bil insan, tadbir al-mutawahhid, Kitab al-nafs, treatise al-ghayab al-insaniyyah risalatul wada, morality, Kitab al-nabat, and others

9. Ibn Tufail

           His full name is Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Abdul Malik bin Muhammad bin Thufail. He was born in 1110 AD in Guadiz, Spain and died in 1185 AD in Marrakesh, Morocco. Among his famous philosophical works is Hay bin Yaqdzan.

10. Ibn Rushd

           


His full name is Abu Al-Walid Muhammad bin Ahmad Bin Muhammad bin Rusyd. He was born in Cordova in the year 520 H/1126 AD. Among his works that are currently still found and taught in boarding schools as well as a reference book is Bidayatul Mujtahid, who discusses legal knowledge.
