US PROPHET IDRIS

Prophet Idris Alaihissalam is the one who sent down the Prophet Nuh Alaihissalam. And he is the first person who can write with words and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala and Allah Subhanahu wa ta ala have bestowed upon the Prophet Idris Alahissalam some skills. Are as follows: mastering arithmetic, astrology, horseback riding, sewing clothes, because before humans wore clothes made of animal skins.

Prophet Idris Alaihissalam was very diligent in studying sahifah or what is called a written sheet that was revealed by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’Ala to Prophet Adam alaihissalam and to Prophet Syits Alahissalam.

And to him also Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala revealed 30 shahifah which contains the straight religious teachings conveyed to his people, namely the descendants of Qabil who disobeyed Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.

Prophet Idris Alaihissalam also had extraordinary power, so that Prophet Idris Alaihissalam received the title “Asadul Usud” which means “The Lion of Allah”. This title was given to Prophet Idris Alahissalam, because he preached to his people persistently and also dared to fight people who were disobedient to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.

He always remembers Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala and Allah has given him a high degree, as in the word of Allah in the Qur’an Surah Maryam verses 56 to 57. Meaning: 56. And tell Muhammad the story of Idris in the Qur’an. Indeed, he was a man who loved the truth and a prophet. 57. And we have raised him to high dignity.

As for the information from some commentators, stating that when it was open for Prophet Idris Alaihissalam to get acquainted with angels, then Prophet Idris Alaihissalam had a desire to see the unseen world, then his wish was fulfilled, so Prophet Idris ascended Alaihissalam to the fourth sky and some scholars also say to the sixth sky.

In the hadith also narrated by Bukhari and Anas bin Malik it is stated “When the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam and Jibril passed a place on the night of Isra and Mi’raj, he met Prophet Idris and said, “Welcome to the pious Prophet and brothers. The pious one.” Then the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam asked him, “Who is this?” Jibril replied, “This is Idris”. He is mentioned in the Qur’an, namely in Surah Al-Anbiya verses 85 to 86. Meaning: 85. And ( remember the story) Ismail, Idris, and Zulkifli. They are all among those who are patient. 86. And we have included them in our mercy. Indeed, they are among the pious.

CONCLUSION FROM THE STORY OF THE PROPHET IDRIS AS

•          Prophet Idris Alaihissalam is the grandfather of Prophet Noah Alaihissalam.
•          Prophet Idris received many kinds of knowledge, such as arithmetic, astrology, dared to fight people who were disobedient to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala. And the Prophet Idris was the first to sew clothes, because before him people still wore clothes made of animal skins.
•          Prophet Idris was elevated by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, because he was a pious and patient person. Allah loves those who are pious and patient and Allah hates those who disobey their Lord.
•     The number of prophets that we must know is 25, one of them is Prophet Idris Alaihissalam, a prophet of God who was sent down by God to teach his people the teachings of Islam, and he also carried out God’s commands patiently, strong and brave in dealing with people. Who are disobedient and associate partners with Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. Thus the story of the Prophet Idris Alahissalam, may be useful.
